They've got some neat stuff. The blanks are definitely a slow action, but I've built a few rods on these blanks and been happy. Reasonably priced, too.

From what I've heard, the Z-Axis is a better all arouns tick....that coming from the guys paid to promote SAGE. However, I'm not sure you'll have much choice. I doubt you can get your hands on an XP blank unless it's from an authorized dealer/custom builder who had some left in stock. I am eagerly awaiting my shipment of the new Z-Axis blanks.

I always run the epoxy over the winding check as well. I also use the nickel silver/metal ones. I'm not sure if the metal ones would tarnish without an epoxy coating. I imagine it would depend on what kind of metal it is..

It's not flocked...it's a cork grip with a small "tail" that extends over the reel seat. I haven't been able to even find a picture of one online. I've only seen it in a few magazines, and even the names of those magazines escapes me now. I believe it's angler's roost that advertises them, but only on finished rods. Thanks guys, I appreciate the responses. I'm going to do a little more looking and post some findings. Have any idea what a 15 wt. rod would equate to? maybe a rod rated for 30#-50#? I'm asuming a moderate/fast action would probably be best..
