I'm planning an upgrage to my lathe and am trying to find those little ball bearing wheels I see on the high dollar rod wrapping machines. I know I've seen people talking about them on the website but can't seem to find anything using the search function. Can anyone give me a source for these? Also I'd like to pick up a couple of 16 rpm motors as well. Thanks in advance for the help.

I pour a custom lead weight and epoxy it into the butt of the blank. I start by finding a scrap of old blank that fits into the butt of the blank perfectly. I then use this scrap to find another scrap the exact same size and taper as the blank and use this as the mold for the weight. I've found that 2 1/2 inches of lead usually is perfect for most rods. A follow up to my original post. First of all, thanks to all of you who responded. Sounds like just a little thinning (80/20)is the best for this product. To answer a couple of the questions. This was using Gudebrod dark green size A thread (with silver trim rings) on a St. Croix green SCV blank. I had accidently gotten a little too much denatured alcohol in the mixing cup and the consistancy end

Following suggestions from this site, I picked up some Gudebrod 811 CP for the first time and gave it a try. Straight from the bottle, it was extremely thick and didn't appear to be giving me the penetration that I wanted. The directions say that it can be thined with alcohol.
