This is a pic of the 500# plus Bluefin Tuna I caught yesterday on the custom standup rod I built this spring. Thanks to all for the help and advise!

Thanks for the help guys- and I apologize...I did a number of searches but couldn't find any threads that addressed this. I must have missed them. So it sounds like it's completely personal preference. Thanks again!

Hello all,
I am hoping to get some opinions from you all. I will be building my first acid wrapped rod in the coming weeks. It will be a jigging rod for tuna, amberjack, etc. I am wondering if there is are reasons to wrap the guides right or left, and what those reasons might be. Thanks for the guidance.

To all,
I have attached a photo in the miscellaneous portion of the photo area of the Giant Bluefin Tuna I caught yesterday. I want to say thank you to all of you who (weather you knew it or not) helped to give me the knowledge and confidence to build the standup rod that I used to beat this fish. I couldn't have done it without this incredible website. Keep up the great work.

Terry,
Sounds like a neat project. I was thinking of putting together a spin rod for football bluefin similar to what you are doing. What are you using for a blank?
