Hello, I have reached out to NFC some time ago and they haven’t reached back out regarding their recommended guide spacing. Is there a chart out there available for fly rod spacing. Have several gamma betas in 7,9,10,11 and a iconoglass 8 wt if that is any help. Thanks

I’m also building a 9’ 9wt and I ordered size 16 and 12, 12 for stripper and 16 for running down to 3s for snake guides. However this is my first salt water build and I was comparing it to my tnt 9wt and that stripping guide is much larger, maybe 2 sizes up. I was planning on using recoil double foot guides. I kind of like the idea of a larger stripping guide in case any knots in fly happen happe

Mike, thank you for sharing your set up. I followed suit with the corks, fighting butt and reel seat. However I may have ordered the wrong reel seat model #. I stuck my 7+ hatch reel into the reel seat to test it out and the feet of the reel go beyond the threads. It definitely fits but it is a little snug taking the reel out of the seat. The diameter “seems” to be ok but I don’t have the blanks

Abe, I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop, I myself am a northeast angler and drive basically everywhere to fish, and I have rod tubes on my vehicle for transport which made the decision a little easier to go with the 1 piece stick. Hopefully by spring time I’ll be slinging flies

Would a 10 wt follow the same build or should I up the size of the stripping guides ?

I am curious if anyone out here fishes an NFC F 1090-1, or any similar one piece rods made by NFC. If so I’d like to hear some pros and cons. I don’t care to travel with it, I have another 10 that I would use for plane travel. Thanks in advance.

I am new to the rod building world and have messed around on some kits that had come with all components, however I have a 9’ 9wt on my mind that I would like to build. I plan on going with a NFC gamma beta, but I am looking for salt worthy guides and any recommendations will be helpful as looking online is a bit overwhelming.
