I am using the KR Guide placement software, using a 3000 spool and 6-10lb braid, it spits out 16H, 8H, 5.5M. and the following spacing, 19", 10.72", 7.93". If I want to upsize to the 20H, 10H, 5.5M reduction train, should i use the spacing numbers for the 16H shown previously? or should I edit my reel/line inputs until the software spits out a 20H reduction train? For reference, do

I guess i was trying to fill some of the space, but what you are saying is i only need minimal glue? i typically use tape arbors? does the type of arbor used affect how much glue must be used?

I recently purchased a couple of the NFC carbon fiber spinning handles. they are super light, but have a fairly large ID imo. I am putting them on small diameter blanks and the amount of glue i am adding is bringing the overall weight way up. how do you guys keep the weight down? i assume by using arbors is 2 enough? what arbors are lightest? How much glue is actually needed? Josh

Hello, Looking for more expert advice. When I put together the rod specs on the anglers resource guide calculator no matter my entries, I always get the 20H, 10H and 5.5M. However, on this KR concept printout I found, shows the latest is 20H, 10H and 6L. (See link to PDF as I cannot figure out how to post pictures here). I'm sure the difference is minimal, but can someone explain this discrepanc

Hello I am looking at building a pair of rod for jig raps, to be fished mostly vertical. Looking at something 6'3 to 6'6" MAX. I have a couple x-ray SB 684's coming. I really like the action of that blank as a full size. How much can I take off the butt end and maintain the original action/power? I would like to take 5 inches and get to 6'3", but would be ok with taking less off if I

Norm! Thank you for that reply! I have been trying to figure out how to calculate the 4 guide reduction, but I guess you calculate it the same as the 3. Never quite had that figured out. Until now

If I go with the 4 guide reduction, how hard is it to determine the locations? What I like about the 3 guide is that the GPS software also gives locations of where they go. Then so a static test for the runners.

Spencer - I agree with you on the lighter line, and 90% of the time the 3/16oz and lighter will be thrown on 6braid to 4 or 6 flouro or straight 4 or 6 mono. However once and a while i will grab a 10lb braid reel and add in a 6lb leader to throw an 1/8oz jig. simpler than re-spooling bc i just didnt grab the right setup or whatever the situation is. Essentially just wanted to make sure that the 1

Forgive me for being new to rod building, this may be an obvious question, but for spinning application, arbors (tape or otherwise) will still be required correct?

Awesome! Thank you for the speedy replies! i will go with the 16h Next question that i just started thinking about after reading Kevin's reply is running guide size. I was thinking 4.5KTs but now I am wondering, "how far can i push this?" do you think i could go to a 4 on the runners? I do fish in freezing temps but imo that doesnt really matter, if its below 32 guides freeze up even

Hello all! I understand this has been spoken about before but as I get ready to order multiple sets of guides I want to be sure to order the correct setups. I will be building multiple NFC X-Ray rods all from 6'8" to 7'3". I will be using Pflueger 30 size reels. They will be spooled with 10lb braid with 6-10lb flouro leaders or occasionally straight 4-6 mono. My end goals are to keep t
