I made the mistake of wasting my $50 off coupon, because it brought my total down below the free shipping mark. I didn't realize the free shipping threshold was determined by the discounted price. I thought the coupon would just be applied to the grand total at the end. So my $50 off ended up being $15 off after the shipping got tacked back on. Are you sure that's not what happened to your total?

I use a mechanical silver pencil for welding. Only because I had them on hand already (I do a bit of bladesmithing) and I also thought the standard grease pencils are too “chonky” for when you need precise marks.

Nice! Thanks Michael. I have both the CB705 and the NEO ordered, so I should be able to put them both to the test and see which one I like better.

Ordered one of these with the new yellow/black color scheme ("Stinger") with the intention of building a rod for bladed jigs, but have zero experience with that blank.
I need a good chatterbait rod desperately. I have lost three bass on chatterbaits this year that would have been PBs. One that almost certainly was double digits. Got it about ten feet from the boat and it came off. S

Thanks Norm! That post helps me out a ton.
David, I'm not avoiding your question of where, but I wasn't sure if I would be breaking any forum rules by mentioning a non-sponsoring vendor.

Sorry to ask so many basic questions, but I started looking at Fuji's Ti guides on the Anglers Resource page, youTube, etc, trying to study what is what, and I have gone from being thoroughly confused to just pretty confused.
Looks like they have a few different frame versions of each guide, and their nomenclature is not exactly clear. Also, since the Torzite rings are a different ID, I'm not

I have been building with CRB LZR guides, and they have worked well so far. With the recent NFC sale, I ordered a C6O2 725 blank and I've been entertaining the idea of using a titanium guide train on it to take advantage of the reduced weight and try to avoid having the blank be tip-heavy. I don't know much about the titanium guides that are out there, other than they are pretty pricey, and I am

I built a SJ 703-1 X-Ray as a casting rod, and really like it for finesse bass fishing. I put a Kast King Zephyr BFS reel on it and it works great for unweighted plastics like Trick Worms, flukes, etc, using 8 lb braid.
I would suggest a spiral wrap though, the rod has a lot of flex and you'll use a lot of guides to keep the line off the blank if you do a traditional wrap for a casting rod.
