Yes they’re fiberglass. I am building the 742 currently and already know I’m going to love it.
The site could use some reworking that’s for sure.

Has anybody turned an LMX FANY into a trout spey rod? Looking at the 1103 specifically.

I actually went with the 742 as the 744 felt too stout. The 742 is a night and day difference in action, much more flexible. I will be extending the rod 4-6" to get a little more out of the taper and distance.
When I was at the shop I noted its for north sound coho and there is always a chance a king takes hold. One of the employees put my worries to ease with past experiences with the ro

I figured I would bump this thread to provide clarity on the weight as it came up in top search results for this ring comparison. From Rodhouse.fr:
Alconite BC Dark Grey
20H: 4.13g
16H: 2.45g
10H: 1.4g
Fazlite BC Dark Grey
20H: 4.08g
16H: 2.5g
10H: 1.43g
Seems to be negligible weight difference.

Your input was very useful Les. I’m sort of thinking that the 745 is more my rod after you said the 744 is noticeably softer. Plus as you noted, I’ll be trying to huck the lure as far as possible. The 745 will probably give me a little more distance on a 1/2oz lure.

I am looking at tossing predominately 1/2oz or 2/3oz spinners, and every now and then a 3/4 buzz bomb for Puget Sound early coho (4-7lbs) and was wondering between these two blanks as I love the feel of glass. I have been told either would do what I am looking for. Others that have built on these blanks what are your suggestions?
Likely I would add about 4"-6" for a handle and to all

Good deal Titanium SF from REC will be it. I’ll add the build with pictures once done since I have not seen an Iconoglass with single foots.

I’ll be using an Iconoglass 7’6” 4wt to shoot a compact shooting head from the beach and river. Figured to use titanium guides for salt, but then I’m stuck between single foot and snakes. Specifically a guide setup to shoot line as far as possible, without going insert guides (aside from one stripper).
The OPST rods are built with snakes and I’d think they tailor to shooting line. But then I’
