Well I ended up ordering the Rod Geeks C3 7'11" H MF that I initially had thought of. NFC doesn't list the weights of the blanks for the two that I had thought of so I figured the 2.7oz for the C3 was a pretty good weight for a rod of that size.

Has anyone built on the XRAY MB7109? The specs seem to match what I'm looking for and the sale on them is ending soon.

What is everyone's recommendation for a god punching blank? I think one of my next builds is going to be a punching rod but haven't really narrowed it down to anything. The Rod Geeks Carbon 3 7' 11" H MF is about the only one I have my eye on right now.

I built one last year for my BIL. I cut 2 inches off the butt to make it 6ft 10in. It makes for a fantastic jerkbait rod.

Got to try out the Rod Geeks 7ft 9in H Fiberglass build last week. I love how it loads with a Deep N, Spro Little John DD, and 5xd cranks. Sensitivity wise, it is more than adequate (not as good as my 7ft MH squarebill rod though). You can feel the wobble very well on the wider wobble baits but the tighter wobble baits are a little tougher to feel. You can tell the difference of bottom compositio

Thanks for all of the input. I ended up ordering the Rodgeeks Fiberglass 7ft 9in H that I initially had my eye on. The deciding factor was my experience with the 7ft MH model. As i stated in the original post, I'm blown away at the sensitivity of it and how well it keeps fish hooked up. I have a Dobyns Champion CB765 that is nowhere near as sensitive as my Rodgeeks fiberglass 7ft MH. I'll rep

Looking for advice on some good deep crankbait blanks that you all have built on. I am currently leaning towards a Rodgeeks fiberglass series 7'9" H. I have the 7ft MH Rodgeeks fiberglass rod that I use for squarebills and I absolutely love it. The sensitivity rivals that of many graphite rods I've used in the past. I've also heard the American Tackle Bushido crankbait blanks are really

I use the 7ft MH rodgeeks fiberglass blank for 1.5 squarebills and it's an amazing rod! Super sensitive and a good backbone. I'm really thinking about getting the 7ft 9in H for deep cranks

I have not used any of those rods before but I did build a squarebill rod on a Rodgeeks Fiberglass series 7ft MH. I never would've imagined a fiberglass rod to be so sensitive. It might ne something to look into if you'll be throwing the cranks up around laydowns etc.

I have an Xray SJ703 cut down to 6ft 8in on my workbench that I am going to build with the intent of it being a jerkbait rod. My current jerkbait rod is the Falcon Cara weightless worm rod which is rated as a MH rod but has the diameter of a typical ML. It's a really unique rod rating and I feel the SJ703 is pretty similar from what I can tell. Jeff Kreit and Mike McClelland actually use this rod
