Looking for some advise, Building a Sage z-axis 6110-4 zx. I want to use Titanium snake guides. I've been told they will "sing" when casting and even when retrieving. Does anyone have experience with this? Will noise carry through the line and spook fish? Am I setting my self up for disappointment?

I am hoping to get some guidance on what side of the spine to place my guides. I read you can place on either side as long as there all the same side. I also read one side will give you better casting and less power fighting a fish and the exact opposite for the other side. Is there any truth to this? If so what side of the spine do I put the guides on to get the most casting power and a little l

I am in the process of building my first rod - St. Croix scV 4pc – 9ft - 6wt.
I am turning handle/reel seat/fighting butt. The fighting butt recesses into the reel seat 1†(it’s removable). This pushes the blank out of the reel seat 1â€. I am planning to match the inside of the reel seat to the rod taper as best as I can. But........Will this create a weak reel seat to blank bond? Will

Can any one offer advice on making a grip that is a combination of wood and cork? I would like to start at the winding check with leopard wood (taper back 1â€) butting to burnt burl cork and back to leopard wood. From there attach the up locking reel seat. Should I glue the cork and the wood together and then turn? Or do I turn the wood and the cork separately? Are there any tutorials that will
