I have made several cts blanks all in the larger weights. As far as I am concerened they are the finest on th e market. They have an all carbon helex core, no fiberglass. Lighter and stronger thain other blanks the same weight. Will be watching for your posts. Good luck

Thank you for the info, The problem is room for the static distribution test. I live in centrail WA. and we have a lot of snow and cold and I hve to go outside for this test on a 16ft. rod. thank you. Has anyone built a 16ft spey rod and if so do you remember the spaceing that you used? This will be a starting point for my guides. I am sure that some will have to be moved for this blank.

Hi all rod builders. My guestion deals with a 11ft 6in cts switch rod. I have built several fly rods, but this is my first switch. Would you suggest a regular reel seat or a two hand seat. How long would you make the upper and lower handel. I am thinking 13in for the upper and 4in for the bottom. Your sugestions will be of great help. Thank you

I am building a switch rod and need some input on the grips. The blank is a 10ft. CTS 8 weight for steelhead and salmon. Can I use a standard reel seat or should I go for the spey style? How long should I make the lower grip and the upper grip? I was thinking the upper should be about 10 to 12 inches but I am in the dark as to the lower. Thank you for your imput. James

I had a belt split and took it to the hardware store and they glued it back. They said that is how they make belts in that size. they used superglue and it still works good. Dose any one know where I can get Perma Gloss? Thank you.

Thank you guys. I will try your suggestions. The dry wall tape with the holes sounds good. I have built a lot of one handed fly rods but was a little worried with the larger 2 handed rod. Thank you again. Jim

I am building a CTS 14 ft. rod. Can I use masking tape as a shim on a two handed rod. There is a great deal of strain on the reel seat. Will tape hold up or should I use some cork rings under the reel seat? Thank you Jim

I have compleated several fly rods with good luck. I just compleated a new CTS 12' 6" Skaget rod the rod looks great and handles better thain any other Spey that I have cast. I developed a problem this weekend. Three rings down from the top of my grip, a section of three rings have come loose from the blank and twist arround. I built the grip from burle cork and turned it to the shape that
