1. Help Please!
Just glued a recessed handle on a 9' Allstar Elite and noticed a split in the cork at the recessed grip. I test fitted the handle multiple times and never noticed the crack. I've got it glued tight to the blank with several rubber bands around the recessed cork. Should I remove the handle now while I can, spare the $30 and start over or could I be alright? I do plan on treating the cork but am

Thanks for all the advice. I guess I will put off going forward with these rods until I get some Rod Bond sent out. Oh well, the fish will just have to wait.

Hello-
I'm building an Austin All Star 9' 8wt and an Austin All Star 9' 6wt. Both are two piece rods. The first rod is for my father and second for myself and I would hate to ruin such nice blanks with bad judgement. Both will be equipped with Struble U-1 real seats. I've got a series of what to me are questionable areas that I'm hoping to receive some advice on and I'll list below. Please

This is my second and third rod I'm building and first time using a cork sealer (U-40 Cork Seal). Is it better or perhaps easier to seal the handle before or after it is glued to the blank or does it not matter?
On a side note, I ordered a couple of nickel silver winding checks which I expected to match in color the real seat (aluminum/chrome) and guides I purchased. They appear to have some
