I could use some help from anyone who has built with this blank. NFC's website has the tip-top size listed at 0.68. I cannot seem to make the correct conversion. Sorry for the novice question. I appreciate the help.

I could use some help with "stains" on a new rod blank. It did not come from the factory this way, I somehow have small grease-like marks on various parts of the blank. It looks like I ate potatoes chips and didn't wipe my hands clean, and then handled the blank. I did put the reel seat on and wiped away the recess epoxy immediately, so I do not think this is the culprit. I used 91% i

Thank you Geoff, I really like the other Rainshadow product lines, so I will try it out. At $45/blank, I may try a few. Dave

Thank you for the response, everyone. The blank I'm trying to duplicate has seen better days from wear and tear perspective. I cannot see, let alone read any of the old decals. I know the length is 6'6". I cannot access the blank at the moment to share a pic. However, I was able to find something pretty close. Its a spinning rod, but looks to be identical to my casting rod. Mark, I'

I need a recommendation related to a fiberglass blank that replicates an old St.Croix Pro Glass rod. I've tried several glass blends and none of them feel like my old Pro Glass. I'm a complete novice when it comes to fiberglass, so your help is appreciated. Is the Pro Glass 100% fiberglass? I know the blends are "better" but, for some strange reason, I like the large diameter blank, hea

So, I wrapped my first two guides and must say I'm really bad at this. When I was using my burnishing tool, I inadvertently pushed too hard, and the tool jumped and ran over the entire wrap. My eyes are not very good, but the black thread looks to have white score marks. Will these marks become visible when epoxy is applied? I also think my wrap might be too tight. How do you know if this is t

Would anyone be able to help confirm my guide placement is in the ballpark for a 1st time build? I did use the KR concept software, but I'm confused about a few items. 1. My butt guide is 31" from the end of the rod. Seems too long. 2. my choker guide is 51.5" from the end of rod. This seems too long also. 3. I have 28.5" from tip to choker for running guides. How many do I use an

Aaron, Rod looks amazing. What color/brand of threads did you use? I really like that combo with the blank. Thanks for posting the pictures. Dave

I'm trying to find a similar blank to the Loomis SMR 752S-SP Bronze Back Fiber Blend, 6'3", 1/8 to 3/8, 8 to 12, Fast, Medium pwr. It's the only rod my kid's fight over and I can't figure out why! Thought I would just build another one to stop the bickering. I'm confused about the fiber blend blank. Does anyone have a recommendation to match this rod? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Tom. This will be a spinning rod. When you say mid guides, is that what the M stands for on some guides? I see guides size 5 and 5M. Or were you just referencing the mid-position of the blank?

Hi everyone. This is an amazing forum and a bit intimidating to a new builder. I hope you can forgive the new guy as my questions may seem rudimentary in nature. It's such a great opportunity to seek advice from experts before I buy all the wrong stuff. I will try to keep my questions related to guides and placement. I'm building an ultralight with a size 1000 reel, 6 lbs braid on the NFC FW 661
