Larry, There have been a multitude of threads on bonding agents used in glueing up handles and a search on gluing cork will give you a very long reading list. In a nutshell, yes you can use "carpenters" glue to glue up cork rings. I use Titebond III, which is waterproof, very succesfully. Pete, I've done several Hokie color builds in the past several months. Here are my unscientific findings. All blanks were matte(light black or charcoal). All rods were wrapped with Gudebrod Garnet #206 and Orange #221.
