Larry, There have been a multitude of threads on bonding agents used in glueing up handles and a search on gluing cork will give you a very long reading list. In a nutshell, yes you can use "carpenters" glue to glue up cork rings. I use Titebond III, which is waterproof, very succesfully. Other builders also use Rod Bond and acclaim great success with this product, which I recomend to

I,too, have struggled with the small Rod Bond glue line between reel seats and grips/foregrips, even after wiping with a denatured alcohol soaked paper towel. My best "fix" for this was making a small scraper tool out of a dental instrument, thanks to my dentist, who lets me rumage through his broken tools. Pete, I've done several Hokie color builds in the past several months. Here are my unscientific findings. All blanks were matte(light black or charcoal). All rods were wrapped with Gudebrod Garnet #206 and Orange #221. CP was not used on the first rod, and both colors went "dark" almost to the point you could not say they were Hokie colors, except in sunlight. Used Gudbrod CP (2 coat
