Hi, Dennis. I'm not sure what an Allan seat looks like. When I Google it, I get new ALPS seats. I'm looking for a vintage look, VARMAC seems to be closest. Simple stamped aluminum would work, but they seem to have disappeared, except in black and I'm looking for silver or chrome. Thanks so much, Paul EDIT: Ok, I found some photos of vintage Allan fly rod sliding ring seats. So Allan's

Donald, that's what I've been left with it seems. Not ideal. I'm looking at skeletal seats too. Dennis, I need 2.

I have been looking for old strap trigger reel seats in chrome/silver/aluminum. In fact, I'm not finding any chrome aluminum spinning seats either. And ideas?

Contacted Herb. A couple blanks ordered. Their Crystal S-Glass blanks are translucent, and can be painted with translucent paints. So, I ordered one painted and one raw (a milky off-white is how it looks online). Oh, they are going to be pretty!

OK... I was wrong about the CTS Quartz spin blanks. The CTS S-Glass spin rod page IS working! However, what comes up is a graphic that looks like a 'missing page' graphic. Just have to scroll down. I think they might want to change that.

I contacted CTS. Megan replied and gave me the web page address, which still does not work. Only that page. I've responded. I suppose they have a glitch. Will check with Herb too. Ah! Thank you, Lynn. That makes sense.

It appears that the fiberglass "Quartz" blanks are no longer listed on their site.

Here's a link to something interesting: CTS CrystalGlass Epic looks a bit opaque, with shiny finish.

Thanks, Bill. I've seen the CTS blanks, and they are what I'm thinking. However, I'm looking for a conventional, preferably 1pc, blank. Their website page for their CrystalGlass conventional blanks is gone. Appears they've stopped making them.

Is it possible to alter the color of a fiberglass blank that maintains the blanks translucence?

Hi, all. New here. Been lurking on and off for some time. I too am wanting to build a glass rod, preferably 1pc S-Glass: a casting rod to mimic some of the old vintage rods. I'm looking for a translucent, not painted, blank. I'm not so keen on the bright orange MHX blanks. I checked the Seeker S-Glass suggested above but there are no images so I cannot tell what they look like. I see lots o
