I'll be using 10 lb mono on this one. I'm already planning the next build and was thinking about going KR on that one.

If gave that impression with my last post sorry. Yes this is a spinning rod and no the line doesn't touch the blank. I read the anglersresource link and understand much better now.

Ok, thanks Tom.
Another question. When I static test for stress distribution how much "deflection" is acceptable. For example if the line is say a 1/4 inch from the blank under no load and under load it is 3/8 is that reasonable.

I'm building a 6'6" spinning rod using fuji blyag/blag guides and the 27x method. The reel is a daiwa bg 2500. My calculation shows that the choke guide should be 50.97 inches from the spool lip. That only leaves 15 1/2" to the tip. If I use 3 runners the last will be somewhere around 2 1/2- 3" from the tip. But 2 runners doesn't seem like enough. I'm looking for some advise from y

I fish from a kayak alot so I usually only carry one or two rods at a time. Therefore, I ended up using it as an all purpose rod alot of times. However, my favorite use for it was throwing soft plastics, especially weightless senkos which I seem to fish often.

Thanks Joe. I was looking again at their lineup and saw the REVS68ML. It does seem to spec out as the most similar. Have you used that blank? I always thought the isj782 was pretty powerful in the butt section. Just looking for a little first hand experience.

Hi. I built one rod when I was 18 about 10 years ago and decided to get back into it. The blank i used was a rainshadow ISJ782 and last week that rod had an accident and is now in three pieces. So I'll be replacing that rod as my re-entry into building. I see that blank is no longer available and wondered if any of you have built on that blank and maybe have an idea for a similar blank.
