Ok i have a st. croix rod that has some chips in the clear coat what is the best to cover it up and how?There is some stuff i tried and it stayed tacky and never dried.Just a question to find out how and what everyone else is using.Thanks.

I like the graphite usa blanks.I have built myself and a couple buudies one and no problems. feet long.The model i got is pur80m from mudhole.

3. Surprize rod
Hello again all,
Well i was wondering if i might get some advise on some stuff.My dad is a disabled veteran and a true beleiver in the Marine corps.I am not to smart on weave yet i have been building rods for a few years now.And i am wanting to build him a rod with the Marine emblem in a weave but since i can not do that iam looking for a sticker that has the logo and that i can flex coat over

4. Red fish rod
I am building a rod for my brother inlaw in texas,He fishes red fish and sea trout and he wanted a med-light rod.Is this a little to light for reds or not?I am using a shakari blank that feels pretty good but i also never ever red fished.

Hey Ray,
The pc6601L i beleive might be St.croix premeir casting rod.Not reel certain but possible.I came across a old St. coix rod from 1968 and still in pretty good shape.It is the type where the rod actually comes out of the reel seet.

I recently bought a gator glass blank and when i recevied it.It is not finished reading the catalog a little better.It says it is a unfinished blank.Now being new to rod building is there a way to sand down the blank to get all those grooves out of it?The reason i bought this blank it is pretty cheap and it is a give away rod.Do you think the grooves will effect the wrapping?And do i use flex c

Sorry i dont know about this seat .But iam interested in putting it on my swimbait rod iam building.Erik it sounds like you really liks this reel seat.My rod is going to 8 ft length and heavy action.For throwing big baits for freshwater bass.Is this something you would put on a rod like this?More leverage on the rod and reel? or what is it like?Thanks for any info

I have done the same on my first rod. And got told to take a finger nail file to it litely and them coat over.
I did not do it i took my guides off and re did it. Now i cant tell you for sure if it works or not.Just what i was told.

16. Stupid question
I am new to rod building.And i was reading one of the post here and seen something called a bumber rod system.Can anyone describe to me what that means.And also i would like to maybe rotate some guides on a rod how is done with out effecting the action.

18. Rod Varnish
I went to varnish a complete rod and can not get it to level out all over.What is the trick it is suppose to be self leveling.That is not happening.Any hints on how to put the shiny coat over paint and have it be level will help.i am new to rod building so any help would be great thanks

19. Bionic blade
I have a bionic blade im8 graphite and noticed at the 4 eye down has a splinter off of it. It is 7 foot med heavy. I cant tell if it is paint or graphite. Is there any thing to put on it so it dont break in a tournament or fishing period.The blank is colored muroon.How do i tell if it is graphite or the paint that is splintered off.And what to put on it. ANY HELP WOULD BE GRATEFULL
