Instead of using X-tube the same process of building the taper as discribed in the other view and wrapped directly up and onto the corktape

Corktape was covered by X-tube and the taper is cork rings shapped and covered with epoxy.
The thread travels up the transition with very little problem.

All,
Scott Mumford, a member of this forum, died yesterday, January 12. He died of complications due to cancer. He was 50. Scott is survived by his wife and two teenage children. He loved fishing and wrapping rods. He will be buried with his favorite rod

I have done this with very good results -
!. Make a hole saw from a length of thin wall stainless tubing that is as close to the blank OD as possible. I bevel the ID of the tubing so it comes to a sharp cutting edge.. the tubing should be 10 to 12 inches long to provide a hand grip.
