I have a customer who is interested in me building some ice fishing blanks for him. He would like a graphite blank that isn't black. He isn't interested in the orange tip either. Does anybody have an idea where i could find something like that?
Also, I havebeen away from the forum for some time now and haven't heard if there were any discussions about PROWRAP thread and PROKOTE. Worth the h

Tom - the damage is the second guide from the tip.
I have been talking to the customer about what I did. I am Eagle Scout and lying is NOT part of how I live my life. I am not trying to figure out how to hide what I did, I f#*%@&# up big time. I have been posting just to find out if anyone knew where I could find another blank so I can fix it better than a splice. Jim Gamble gave me

tom - I damaged the tip section of the blank (Tell me if I am calling it wrong. It is a two piece rod and it is the tip section not the butt section) I dont really want to splice anything. I am hoping to find an identical blank to replace the tip section or I am going to have to buy him new blank and components on my dime. I have a baby on the way, new house and things are tight, not somethi

I am not sure why everyone is thinking that i am trying to hide this. I am trying to find another tip section (of the 2 piece) or the entire two piece blank so i can just replace the the tip section. I have no problem fessing up, I just want to know if someone has another identical blank out there and wants to sell it. If I dont find another section I have to find another blank from different

I am removing guides and putting on new ones for a client. I was wondering if anyone has a trick to making this a little easier and so I can get all the old finish off without damaging the rod.

10. bent blank
I have a Cabelas PT 8' 3wt 2pc. blank that has a slight bend it the same spot on both pieces. Now, the bend is about 90 degrees off of the spine. So here lies the question. Can I put the guides on the inside of the bend or do
I need to put them on the spine? Will I notice the difference? Also, I don't intend on putting the most expensive hardware on the rod.
Any help would be great! Th

11. Tip Top
I am building a 9ft. 7 wt. 2 pc G Loomis rod. I put the tip top on and it went in fine until half way down, it got hung up and scratched the blank. I will be ordering probably the next 2 sizes up, just to cover my rear. Will this effect the strength of the blank?
Thanks,
Aaron

12. Re: Problem
Hello,
I would have recommended going with other guides but I was told by the company that I ordered the supplies through, not American Tackle, that they will be in the next week or two. I figured till I ordered and received the different guides the ones that I originally purchased would have been in. American Tackle sent me a response on my original post two months ago and was apologetic.

13. Problem
Hello All!
In the beginning of May I made a post asking if anybody had some size 8 ATC ring lock guides. I STILL DON'T HAVE THEM! I have been told that they will be in by the end of May, Beginning of June, Mid June, End of June, and any day now. I understand that they needed to come from CHINA (ATC?) but I have a customer that gave $250 to build this rod for him, two and a half months ago a

To anybody that can help,
I need two NBRLF - 8 guides (ATC Ring Lock Fly Nanolite Black Size 8) . I ordered two a month ago and they are on back order until the end of the month. I need to build a rod before I go to Alaska in two weeks. If anybody knows where I can get them, I would be very much appreciated.
THANK YOU!!!

15. guide spacing
I'm building a 7'9" 2 piece 3 wt. I am having trouble figuring out the spacing and how many guides to use. I was sold 9 guides (2 striping guides and 7 single foot wire guides) at last years rod building convention and hope that I didn't get hosed. The tip top that I was sold is too big also. Could I wrap the tip of the blank all of the way out to the end to close up some the gap or sho

16. I'm an idiot.
I just built a Forcast 4 pc. 7' 6" 4wt, and it came out really nice. I was putting the last coat on the threads and I was using flame to quickly take any remaining bubbles out. I sat the alcohol burner down and it was pretty close appartently and it started changing the color of the blank about an inch from a wrap and the wrap started changing color a little bit. It is about 3-4 inches fro
