I'm planning to try it. Don't know if the blank will glow adequately with the light or not, but there ain't but one way to find out, I reckon! I'm not going to hold my breath, but thought it might be a cool little "extra" if it works. I'll let y'all know.

Roger, I am building a rod like this for a buddy of mine. I chose the rod geeks X-comp, with a white tip (too 70% of rod blank), and am planning to embed a small submersible LED in the butt end. Do you have any suggestions for how to mount/ fit the light? 1.25 in. Diameter is the smallest submersible I have been able to find. I want to make sure it seats firmly, with the batteries able to be repl

He wants his rod Dallas Cowboys colors, which somewhat offends me personally, but I guess I'll make him what he wants. I have a friend who wants a 6'6" - 7' casting rod for fishing for flathead catfish here in NC. He uses 30lb. mono, and generally throws a 3 ounce weight with cut bait. I was thinking a fairly robust swimbait blank for 1-3 oz. lures, but all of those I have found are generally 7'6"+. Not a lot of casting involved, so super light weight isn't much of an issue. Greetings all! I am fairly new to rod building, and I have a question. My daughter has requested I build her a rod, and she specifically wants white EVA foam grip! I recommended against it, due to the likelihood of it getting very dirty very quickly, but she has her heart set on it.
