#3 try pulling your tag ends tight and cut close they should pop under the wrap .

as far as the rollers go you can go to a hardware store and get storm door rollers and they can make you some o rings to fit them

i would stick with rod bond or 5 min.epoxy.i particulary dont like gorilla glue on plastics or graphite mhoi havent had it bond too good.thanks joe

i use liquidflash by targus flytying pro materials.it was a beastiful finish on it .i used flexcoat with no problems at all.it makes a terrific single trim wrap.

i will tell you what i did on this subject. i had the person cast his rod as far as he could with a 3/8 sinker and worm on .i took my rod with only a worm on and casted further than he did,was he surprised,he had to have one made,thus i had a sale and a satisified customer all rolled into one.thanks joe

it will probably be dry to touch,but it will probably reach it's full strength in 24 or less.don't rush when building,and don't take any shortcuts.it takes longer to straighten out a mistake.relax and enjoy.thanks joe

if i read you right i would apply a coat of cp on underwrap.when dry add guides and cp.when this dries add finish this should preserve the integrity of both colors.thanks joe

alright christmas is over how many of you are building a rod at this time.i started on a 6'9" 5wt fly rod ,have the reel seat on ,grips shaped.,a 5" yellow underwrap with a feather inlay consisting of grey phesant,and jungle cock feathers trimmed in metallic green.the butt wrap is drying as i type.

in all my years of building i am sorry to say i have never built a fly rod.my question is other than the stripper guide are all the guides the same size and if so does the line weight determine the guide size.thanks joe

i to started building rods in 1979 after talking to a local tackle shop owner who built rod. i bought both of clemens books,and contacted fenwick about blanks and was referred to custom tackle supply and have dealt with them since.up until this year when we got a computer i never knew of other rod suppliers or places like this .i used to belong to rod crafters in the 70s,then i think they folded
