After reading the posts even though I said I was satified with it a cut the first one off and re ground it im a bit happier with the results alot of guys have said to shorten the wrap I di consider this but my son likes these and its his rod so.Next time.still open to constuctive critisism

hello I have built a few rodw in the past but time is getting away from me now and I have a 7 ft 6 forcast 2 piece fly rod blank that I would like to get togather. I have some of the fixings i.e. reel seat cork rings for the handle.the builder would need to supply the guides and bushings for the reel seat ect. if your interested email me at emerger35

Hello I am looking for input on a forecast 7 ft 6 in 4 wt im looking to build one and was wondering what guides and sizes would be recomended I built on for my son a few years ago but I have lost all my paper work for it. I have bastons sizes guide line but they seem considerably different than the one I built a few years ago. any sujestions will be helpful.

Hello after a looking at quite a few blanks I have decided to build this for a float rod for the great lakes reigon.im getting realy to start ordering the componts but need help with the amount and sizes of guides I need.The blank is the beulah 11'6 4pc 5/6/7 spey blank. also the spacing for the guides would be helpful thanks in advance again....

I would like to put the Beula next to the talon these are my top two choices im looking at doing another after this first one but its going to be a little bit longer maybe the raven or rainshadow. I have heard a couple guys talking about the beula and its just like you said the meow. I have a lot of faith in talons I have fished a fly rod of theres and that was one of the best casting rods I have

thanks Scott. I have been looking at reel seats and stuff for a handle would like to find someting pre formed as I dont have a anything to really turn my own handle at this point. or maybe I could glue something up an have somebody turn it for me not sure if thats even an option. im pretty stuck on reel seats that are fixed or a tenn, grip it seems as a tenn. grip would make more sence at this po

jerry thats great info thanks I really have been leaning twords a talon for the first of the many prob because of the shorter leigth and its 3 pc. I dont fish 18 mile and the cat alot but there is the time for them.

I have considered raven also I have heard that these are nice rods also but the factory guides are to small and ice up alot so folks like to to there own guides maybe I should add that to the consideration list a little closer to the top in looking to fish in the mile streams of pa and 18mile in ny. 11 ft 6 seems to be the leight I would apreciate the most but havent ruled out someting 12 or 13 f

Hello all Im looking to try and build a float rod this winter Im looking at either a forcast or a talon or maybe even a spey conversion. Im new to building and have only built one flyrod for my son. Im looking for basic information such as what type of wrap to use for the guides grip leingth and reel seat options any help would be great thanks......

If your sure it was the usps handling the parcel and you have a insurance tracking number for that package I may be able to help you. The first thing I would do though is probably stop payment if you used a mastercard or other credit card. sounds more of a problem with the seller if it went parcel post air it sould have only taken 10 days or so if it went buy ship it could take 60 to 90 days. Well the more I read the more sorry I am I missed the show evertihing was on track for me to go but I started to experaince some pain in my left calf which turned out to be a blood clot so i was not able to make the long drive what a bummer.I will have to watch for next years show. I have no personal experiance with the to yet im going to build the 6 ft 10 for myself soon i hope i just have to finish up my other projects.i recently read someting some where that the 6 ft 10 was a faster rod and the 7 ft rod was more of a softer rod more noodle like it was desribed as may be call dan-craft that seems to be the going advice....

Im considering a grizlly drill lathe but have been looking around at some pen lathes to im wondering is i shouls spend the extra and get a pen lathe for turning cork and now that i think of it turing inserts would it be worth the extra investment?
