I always put a coat of color preserver on my wraps after finishing the wrap and before cutting the thread. It adds a step but holds the thread to the rod and gives you a little more flexibility with the end wraps. It’s so frustrating to have the thread move after investing three or five hours so the extra time is good insurance for the wrap

I’ve built several rods on these blanks I’ve primarily used the IM but am moving to the HM for future projects. No issues with the IM but the HM is a higher quality blank for not much more money. These rods have been used mainly for small river smallmouth fishing but I think the medium power of the blank would be fine for jerk baits. Thanks so much for all the feedback! As I’ve built several rods on the 705-1 blanks for bass fishing I guess it’s not such a stretch from what I’m used to working with. You guys are awesome.

Hey guys I had a friend ask me to build him a rod for redfishing in Louisiana. My builds are primarily for bass, crappie and trout so this is out of my wheelhouse. I use NFC blanks pretty much exclusively. Can anyone recommend a NFC blank best suited to this type of fishing? At this point I’m not sure if he wants casting or spinning so I’d appreciate recommendations for either. Thanks and I hope

I’ve made and received an order from NFC. After screwing up a decal application I called and spoke at length with them. I really appreciate the outstanding customer service I’ve received from them and can’t recommend their blanks enough. They’ve gone above and beyond to give the best possible service. I hope others can attest to the same experiences that I have.
