I’ve built four or five rod geek fly rods as well. Two five weights, two eight weights and one nine. The paint job is awesome and I would 100% recommend the colored options. The rods cast very well and perform exceptionally well for the weights they are rated. I would say they are a bit lighter as previously mentioned. The 8wts both felt a hair on the light side. Perhaps more of a 7/8 then an 8 b

Living in Alaska I have to deal with cold temps in my shop almost daily so high build is a no go for me. The viscosity is just to thick and the low build applies better for me. It’s all very situational dependent IMO.

Roger,
The belts are both broken and the chuck is a lathe style but has corroded pretty badly. I am going to try and clean it up but I may have to replace the chuck. I also need the thread carriage.
