Thank you everyone, I got some recommendations from Dennis on guide placement, and I'll use the white gossamer silk for transparent wraps, I'm just curious if the wraps add any real strength when using epoxy, or if i can keep the wraps to a minimum?

I've noticed that there are alot more guides on Bamboo fly rods. Is this due to the amount of flex they have or aesthetics?
Also, do guides need wraps? Or can l hit melt a small amount of tip top glue to hold the guides and then epoxy for strength?

Thanks for the responses! Don't have the blanks yet. Just figuring things out best I can before it arrives. 4.5 or 5 sounds closer to what I've been reading, thank you for confirming. I'll take a peek at anglers workshop.
Also, seems like bamboo has way more guides than graphite. I'm sure Dennis will have placement recommendations.
Thanks again!

Hi everyone,
This will be a hollowed 8 foot 5 wt bamboo build.
Looking for alittle info, and going for ultra light hardware.
My plan is for a Fuji torzite striping guide, something around 8-9 mm, one #3 single foot guide from REC, and then single foot #1's to the tip top. Was looking at the HWI SST Titanium tip top, but can only find it in a size 6, is that to big for a 5 wt? Any other
