Tom:
Thanks for the response. I have never heard of the guides you noted and could not find them on the internet (a lot of "mention" about them but no pictures) . This is the guide I am writing about........

Hello:
It has been a long time and only because I don't do much in the way of rod building, only as a hobby (one of many). I am redoing a rod from a friend in Englewood, Florida. It came with nonfouling guides, I stripped the rod and did not look which way the guides go, obvious how much I do this.
Question: Which way do the guides go? Long foot to the butt or the tip? Searched everywhe

I have read the FAQ's about this but I am still a bit confused.
Is it the recommended practice to put the spine on the bottom in line with the fly reel?
Thanks,

I am rebuilding a rod and cannot remove the tip top. I have been using a heat gun to try and remove tip (tip had not been replaced).
Thanks

I am in the process of finishing a cork grip and thought it would be nice to put something besides cork seal on it. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

I have been requested to rebuild a rod for a friend. It is a 8'6" GL2 two piece. He has had it for years and it has a lage nick/dent in the blank at the tip end. I ws tring to get info on replacing it but cannot find a rod like that made by G Loomis.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have a mental block (or I am just thick). Dale Clemens book "Custom Rod Thread Art" page 116. The picture shows the eye of the fish, sort of drawn in. How do I make the eye and what part of the instructions refer to making the eye?
I want to use this design but I cannot figure it out!

Mark:
The only luck I have had with gel pens is the "Staedtler Silver Gel Roller Pen" And I get them from:
