There are lots of epoxies out there now. I use a product called Resin Research for surfboard building and have used it for some rod building (handles, reel seats, even used it as finish on one rod). It's specifically made for wetting out fiberglass and and other reinforcement cloths. It has built in UV stablizers.
My experience is with the 2000 which is a high modulus resin.

Thanks Rick. I've seen something like that on another forum or maybe just an image search where the guy used a wrap first. Do you have to coat the threads prior to applying the water slide paper? Seems like you might get air underneath it if you didn't.

Hey there, new user here.
Anyone have pics of a rod with their self made stickers on them? I can't see anything but a white background sticker working for something printed with inkjet, unless it's a light colored blank or you lay down some white thread as a background. I ordered some of the white vinyl from Papillio, figured it might be worth a shot.
