be careful of decals, wipe them down with a cloth first. the occasional printing machine uses a rubber protector on them which touches the top of the decal as it moves across to print the next decal and it leaves a rubber/silicone smear on top of the decal..then you brush the epoxy on and wonder why it all turns to crap.!.. (been there done that) cheers

alcohol flames are for I use one of those gas guns that chefs use to crust up the top of custards. works a treat.!! not after the epoxy is on the rod, but before i use it. all bubbles disappear.

I have thought of doing wood but it wouldn't really conform to the style I do. have used the shrink wrap flocking tube and once again don't really like it. (probably just being too fussy.) I know people can get custom golf grips made so I'll probably go down that road and see what happens.. Really appreciate the input. Cheers

Hi Randy, I dont know if there's any trick to that.. Why not underwrap in black where the guide foot will be sitting.? It's fairly simple changing colours while you underwrap..

I do alot of leather grips for Saltwater, and believe it or not, salt water and leather are about the worst compatible pair so "Freshwater or Saltwater" is no difference all comes down to the angler and the care he wants to give to the rod thanks for the info.

Hi everyone, looking around for a different type of grips. I'm over hypalon, Eva, corks, leather and so on......even tried most types of golf grips, just after a material based rubber or something that looks real smart. happy to even get some custom made.. Anyone know of someone that i can chat to.? cheers
