Fly guides are def the way to go.I use single foot wire guides size 6-5-4-3-3 3don't use a tip top just tie on a 3 out there. Mhx makes great blanks for reasonable prices. Andblanks in fiberglass and carbon what will u be using this rod for. I got perch but what kind of lure. What kind of reel will be used I use lowpro inlines so I don't need a stripper guide technically since u won't be cast

Is there really nowhere else to get blanks what ever happened to the green one's you used to be able to buy everywhere now all you can find are the orange tipped black one's. I know mudhole makes a good blank with quite a few options but are there really no others out there. There was a time wen you could even get st Croix ice blanks

Being a musky guy I still don't see an issue most 9 foot muskie rods are telescopic and telescope in front of the grip so if u were to do this at your butt cap I really don't see it being an issue as far as durability. Worst case if u are really worried about it put a solid chunk of fiberglass rod back there then the rod will be stronger there then anywhere else in the blank. I've actually been

oh and also just a thought try using an automotive clear coat and contact the paint manufacturer to see what they would recommend. also when painting the rod i dont see a need to have it in a rod turner if the paint is running you arent painting it right. no body shop i have ever seen or worked in rotated the hole car while it was drying thats why the painting process takes so long. one really

Ild like to try and make my own handles from blocks of corkor Eva I'm having trouble using my drill press keeping my hole strait through the entire piece befor I turn it down. I've tried searching but everything I find is on reaming an existing hole. Do I need a lathe or is there another way. If it's a lathe I need what do u recommend.
