I find the KR GPS is always off when they call for a 3rd guide above 5.5
If the GPS mentions 6L, just swap it to a 6M and you ll be able to get the bullseye.

Hi,
I would like to know two things about the KLH guide concept.
1) I am building a PE2 jigging rod with the reduction guides being 20H, 8H to 6L to 6 runners.
On the KR gps it says I need to use a 10H instead of an 8H. Could I get away with using a 8H rather than a 10H?
Will there be any problems?
2) I am building another rod which is a rainshadow knife jigging blank 15-30 Lbs

Unless your gf is an avid fisho I dont think it matters. If she isnt just let her use a size 16.
Give you an example. I let my gf try my twinpower and my sienna. She cant tell the difference. So she uses the sienna.

Hi guys,
The handle length is 9.5" measured from end of butt to the tip of the lip where the reel goes into on a VSS. It is an down locking reel seat.
From the tip of the spool lip (at highest point) to end of butt its 13.5"
I did a static placement and did a rod with 5 guides and tip, I think that's reasonable. But i m building another one tomorrow...any advice?
Don, thank

Hi everyone,
I m doing my first microwave build. I m using the airwave guides. I have a question about the number of guides.
The rod I am building is a 5ft soild carbon blank. 8 to 17lbs with a 3000 reel with braid.
I measured the guide spacings using the information that came with the guide packet.
From my measurements, it seems that I am required to use 3 guides plus tip. The strip

^^^ to add to what Micheal said above.
I have these Rx6s too. Built as spinning or BFS rods. They are good but compared to the fly rods you are thinking of getting they have trouble casting 1/16s as good as the fly rods.
Compared to the RX6 2wt fly blanks these 4pc RX6 spin blanks are about 3 times as stiff IMHO.

I build a fair few of these style rods.
For baston 2wt I have the rx6 in 2 and 4 pc and the rx8. For the rx6 its much softer than the rx8. A 2000 reel.is much too big for the rod. I primarily use 500 reels and the occasional 1000.
I would use the 2wt rx6s with 1lb fire line about 2 lb mono. The rx8 can be overloaded to 2 or 3 lb fireline 3 to 4 lb mono.
The rx6 max casting weight is 7g

I m a bit weird. I like fly blanks as my UL rods.
My favourite is the RX8 XF662-4M 6.6
