I have to agree with everyone about searching for blanks it is much more cumbersome and time consuming than the old chart style display. One option I think would be nice for searching for blanks would be under the sort bar to have an option to search the length of the blank in order. For example length shortest to longest, I think this would make it a little similar the older chart style layout s

I have question about cutting tag ends. I cant figure out the best way to cut a tag end flush when wrapping. I have tried a razor blade, exacto knife, and thread scissors. I talked to a veteran rod builder who makes a small space in the thread where the tag end is and then cuts the tag end in that space, but I find this very difficult on a three or four wrap trim band tag end. If anyone would lik

If your using prokote High build I have experienced yellowing problems also. I have had several white rods that turned yellow very quickly and once it turns yellow it doesn't look the best. I have switched to flexcoat UV and it takes a lot longer before it starts to yellow, but like mentioned before all epoxy will eventually yellow just part of it.

So I have a question I have always heard not to wrap guides with metallic thread but I have seen some photos of other builders who have done guide wraps with metallic thread. So my question is can you wrap guides with metallic thread without having issues with guides pulling out. Please let me know your opinions on the topic. Thanks, Matt

I appreciate everyone's input and by no means am I trying to stir anything up. I do understand every rod has its limitations and they well all break no matter what material they are composed of. I am just simply trying to learn more about HM blanks and understand in what situations I would either recommend or not recommend a HM blank. And yes most of the HM blanks that have been broken were from

I have personally broke two myself they both broke in the dead center of the blank during a cast. I had two clients break them in the center also both said they were fighting fish when it happened. And I had one break down by the handle customer said he set the hook with a lot of force and it snapped instantly. I have yet to see an intermediate module break under normal fishing. I'm really not su

So I am fairly new to the rod building game been building rods for 2 years now. My question is about high module blanks im having a issue with clients breaking them. I have read up and realize that the higher the modules the thinner the inner wall of the blank and higher modules leads to a more sensitive blank. But to me it seems like the trade off to having a lighter more sensitive blank is you

I was talking to a veteran rod builder at the expo this year and I remember him telling me about using clear avery labels to make decals. He said to get rid of the cloudiness you cover them with this particular brand clear nail polish. Does anyone know that brand nail polish and a little more about this technique? Do you put the label on the rod then brush the nail polish on and then epoxy over t

Hey guys I'm having some issues with epoxy. I am currently using pro kote high build and when I use this epoxy on white blanks it yellows very quickly I have several rods that have turned yellow after just two or three trips when the sun is out. My question is what is the best epoxy that yellows the slowest. I order some flex coat UV to try out any opinions would be great. Also is there any alter
