If its used at all during winter then size 8 is recommended.

They also sell 1.10 graphite rings ( pretty sure that's the dia) places like Jann's and mud hole. Better dia IMO. Tape or the silicone wrapping they sell for stopping leaking pipes works great under the slip rings so there's no chance of the reel coming off then slide the slip ring over top.

I'd Suggest 20,16, 10 ( id order a 12 to and check the flow), then transition to #8's, the reason for 8's with steelhead is prevent ice build during the cold months. I am not a fan though of regular 8 running guides, I do like Alps single foot flys for runners of Minima 4, I have used the Fuji single foot flys with success
