I want to thank everyone for the support of the release of our new products, the Diamondite Marbling Kit, the private labeled Rod Covers and the colored Nu-Skin Rod Armor. I am so happy that all our products have been so well received. I do want to apologize in advance to my Distributors and Dealers and to you Rod Builders for a short term supply issue with the colored Nu-Skin Rod Armor. I am

Sorry for the late response to this question. I am at a trade show in my RV without internet until today. I do have an idea what the issue is. If you are using a drying box and allow the temperature to get over 120 F, you will have a cratering effect. The curing is directly related to the surface evaporation of the product. If you do not use CP, the thread bubbles will not have time to fully

My plan is to release them at the West Coast Rod Show. I have a few more tests to run.

It looks like a reaction in the surface of the undercoat. During my extensive testing of my new pigments, I found that the pigment in testors once the solvent is removed is unstable and it was difficult to get repeatable results. That is why I developed the Diamondite Marbling Kit. It is highly concentrated and build in a base product that is common to all rod finishes. I get repeatable resul

I just got done setting up. In no particular order, just about every rod manufacture is there. I saw Rec, Aftco and All American. I am there with all of my products. Mud Hole is also there. The doors open at 2 pm.

Swifty Manufacturing is pleased to release our Marbling Kits for sale for the first time. It was a product that I had been working on for the last 2 years and am extremely happy with the results. The Diamondite Marbling Kit was a sell out at the show.
It is a true pigment that is dispersed in a base that is common to all of the epoxy rod finishes and my Diamondite Rod Finish. It is highly

Mike,
I have been told by many that if you CP the water slides prior to applying the finish, you will have better results.

I wasn't complaining that builders didn't pick up their gift. It was more of an observation. My booth was jammed from the open of the show until 3 pm on Saturday. The show staff did a great job giving out the coupons and directing builder to my booth. Blue Water of California is a company a bought last year and I wanted to introduce my new products to all of you. From the amount of interest

I want to thank everyone who stopped by our booth to pick up their free Blue Water of California Rod Cover. The first 500 attendees that arrived on Saturday were given a coupon for their free cover. 150 of you forgot to do this and on the close of the show on Saturday evening, we have a good size stack left. So, I gave out to the first 150 attendees on Sunday a free Blue Water of California R

Diamondite Rod Finish does not have the issues that epoxy finishes have when it comes to silicone interaction. The adhesive base makes sure the finish stays where you put it. I have tested it on embroidery thread with out CP with success. I have even tested the finish over a dried silicone spray on a repair with good results. This is the same property that keeps my finish from walking when yo

I wanted to do a test on a Tiger Wrap. There were a few questions that have come up regarding the use of Diamondite with this process. I wanted to find out how fast I could complete it and if there were any problems using Diamondite Rod Finish. I was told that it wouldn’t be a good finish to use for the Tiger Wrap process. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I could complete a 3â€

Fred,
I still fish a M80. Truline did convert to round blanks when the cost to product the hexagonal blank became excessive. The current producer makes both the round blanks and the hex blanks. Old Trulines are very distinctive with the course glass unfinished texture and the dark brown color. I will bring one with me to High Point.

Bill,
Truline Rod Company started in 1953 manufacturing blanks and complete rods for the Southern California market. They made hexagonal fiberglass bait, jig and tuna sticks. They stopped making rods for an extended period of time and just recently began making blanks again. An original hexagon D8 in good condition will bring $200 in So Cal. I still fish with 3 Truline to this day and will

Hey Ed,
When are you going to publish those reports? I want to read them.
Thanks for all your help and I look forward to discussing it with you in detail at the show.

To shorten the answer, you do not need to use the light if you do not. You do need to do a few things differently.
So that is the long and the short answer.

I want to clarify the process for curing Diamondite Rod Finish and quickly discuss some of the differences based of our adhesive finish to other epoxy finishes. I will also address the differences in Color Preservers.
Most epoxy finishes cure thru internally generated heat. Diamondite Rod Finish cures thru evaporation. Our product does not “require†heat to cure. The heat that we sugge

Jimmy,
Did you shake the product well before applying? I have heard of this problem when the solids are not dispersed in the CP properly prior to application.

30. Re: CP Cure
Jeff,
If you are in time crunch, the Diamondite CP cures in 15 to 30 minutes and is ready for the finish. As you may be aware, our Diamondite Rod Finish also cures as fast as one hour per coat possibly solving your time crunch. Just an option to consider.
