What a pain in the backside the new website is! If you know what you want it's like pulling teeth finding it. Try finding a set of microwave spinning guides on there, it's defeated me!

I can't imagine what advantage micro guides would have on a rod that stiff. The only real advantage of micro guides is their lack of weight compared to a set of standard guides, as weight dampens the recovery of lighter powered blanks.

Thank you, I'll drop them a line. Doesn't look too hopeful from the website though.

Are there any retailers that carry both? It seems from scouring the web as far as I can find that they are mutually exclusive. I want to build an E2 68MXF blank with an aero comfort seat and have an itch to try out the microcast guides. As I'm in the UK shipping is an issue, so it would be much cheaper to buy everything in one place, but I can't find anyone who can help. Any suggestions?

Trouble is I want to put an Alps woven foregrip on the reel seat and that only seems available in 16 size. Might have to put a little duplon into the reel seat and join it to the winn grip maybe? First world problems!

I've got a 16 size. It's always a snug fit with duplon, so won't be surprised if it's a struggle. Any tips on whether it's possible to sand down the Winn grip if necessary?

Making up a spinning rod and wondered whether the winn grips fit into the back of the aero seat without too much trouble. I imagine you can't sand the winn grips back to fit them inside the reel seat easily, so it needs to fit in the seat. Anyone tried this combination?

I used an MHX 2 piece inshore blank (L904-2-MHX) as a flipping stick, and it was completely wrong for that application, though it threw an Alabama rig pretty well. That's listed as a fast action though.

I looked on their website, and on Mudhole and couldn't find any 2 piece freshwater rods, though some of the rods in their catalogue looked perfect except for being 1 piece.

That's what I'm trying to do Bill! :) Problem being the Atlantic is getting in the way between me and anyone who sells them!

The only problem with the one I have now, apart form breaking 2" off the tip, is that it's one piece. I'm looking for a two piece rod similar to it for travelling.

I may have a contender! Does anyone know anything about the Rainshadow IP844F or IP904F blanks? They're listed as mod fast 2 piece blanks suitable for Redfish or snook. How would they fare as a bass crankbait rod?

Thanks Ken. I've scoured both of their websites, but no luck yet.

I have a st croix mojo 7'4" glass rod 1/4 to 3/4 rating and it works fine (better before I snapped 2" off the tip, but that's another story!). Anything similar would be perfect. It's a crankbait rod, so it doesn't need to be special, just moderate action, glass or carbon.

Thanks for your effort Bill. Didn't reveal any hidden gems though unfortunately.

Thanks. The blank search thing completely defeats me. I tried to get a response from it, but until I reduced all the criteriavdown to a 7ft 1 piece rod I didn't get any suggestions from it. Too complicated for my simple mind to work!

Thanks Tom. The only rod I've found that might be a suitable crankbait rod is a Majorcraft, but I hate the way it's built and can't find the blank. I tried an MHX 7'6" 2 piece inshore rod as a flipping stick, but it's so not right! Tricky when you can't get your hands on the blanks to get a feel of them before buying, that's why I was hoping someone might have had some experience with someth

Thanks guys, but I'm really looking for two piece. I have quite a collection of one and two piece MHX blanks which I am very happy with, but I still haven't found what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know of a 7-7'6" 2 equal section moderate action glass or graphite blank I could build a bass crankbait rod with? I travel a lot and it's easier to get a shorter rod tube in aircraft baggage than a one piece. Also a similar length blank with a flipping/pitching type action? I've searched without success. Failing that, any tips on the possibility of cutting a blank in half and fit
