Fuji makes KR belly guides. They have longer feet for more strength in the midsection of the rod. I will mainly be fishing the open beach with this and I have O Sea D about my fishing rods so tripping or the car door knocking my guides loose is not a concern. I'm only interested in rod performance with this one. I am leaning toward trying this since my 9 foot casts so well. Knots passing through

I normally use a short leader and am not concerned about it going through the guides. Just the braid going through. Dave, I built a 9 foot rod this way and the tip is larger than the runners and I have no issue with it. Chris and Bill, I am not building for show I want this thing to cast a mile. I'm interested to know if it can compare to the Lamiglass or if it is too light (for lack of a better word) to launch a plug out past the bar in tough conditions.

Does anyone have any experience with Pacific Bay x2gsu110h-2 11 foot 20-40lb 2-6oz tip 8 butt 0.76 wt 9.3. I am on the fence between that and the Lamiglass gsb1321m. The specs are very similar. 11 ft, 40lb, 4-12 lure wt ( though I've read it's really lighter than that), tip 11, butt 0.84, wt 9&1/8 oz. I am building an 11 ft striper surf rod and was looking to save a few bucks but don't want t
