I would like to mention some fantastic service I received from Get Bit Outdoors. Last month I received an order of 10 blanks from them, however despite being well packed when I inspected the blanks every single one was broken (who knows what happened during shipping!). I reported this to Get Bit Outdoors, and they immediately, and without quibble, replaced the entire order. Thank you guys for yo

I would like to endorse the comments about the fantastic service from mudhole. I recently received a large order from them, and reamed a cork grip before I realised they had sent me the wrong size. When I reported this to them they immediately sent me a new one at no cost, even though I had reamed the old one and couldn't return it. So thank you Mudhole, your service is outstanding.

I have a peel and stick decal decal that I have applied and coated with one coat of flex coat. However it is slightly crooked and it is bugging me so have decided I would like to remove it and start again with a new decal. Can anyone suggest the best way to remove the decal and the flex coat without damaging the blank? Thanks.

Thanks Michael. You mention a set of ergonomics guidelines. Excuse my ignorance but where do I find these?

Guys, thank you all for the advice, and particularly you Roger for taking the time to give me such a detailed response. I think I am going to go with the size 18. One question though, in respect of building up with tape. Does this method ever deteriorate over time. This rod will be used in a very hot climate, and I worry that the adhesive between the layers of tape will go off over time in these

Hello, I am starting a new casting rod and have a question regarding reel seat sizes. How do I know whether to use a size 17 or size 18 reel seat? I am planning on using a Fuji TCSSD seat, and fuji graphite arbours. My blank dia is 14mm at the top of the reel seat. The size 17 seat has an ID of 17mm and the size 18 of 18mm (I guess that is where the size comes from huh!). Should I get as close a

Well thanks everyone, the decals were definitely the cause. 2 coats of CP, dried overnight, then a coat of finish and they are perfect! I'm delighted.

Well thank you all for the substantial responses and advice. As you will know I am new to this forum and I am awed by the volume and level of detail you have all contributed to helping me resolve my problem. I have two rods now with one coat on the decal on one and two coats on the other. While not perfect the rod with two coats looks considerably better than the one with only one, so I am go

Adam did you have CP on the decal? One of the earlier. Posts suggested that this would address the problem?

I don't believe that temp is an issue, and am thinking that the last post and removing the excess after allowing it to fall to the bottom of the blank is what I will try. Now the only question is whether to remove the decal and start again or whether to try and fix the problem via applying a second coat? I am interested to in the comment about applying CP to the decal and will definitely try that

OK thanks guys, I suspected this but wasn't convinced as a second one I tried while deliberately using less epoxy yielded a similar result! Anyway thanks for the advice, I will persevere.

Hi, I am new to rodbuilding, and would like to ask can anyone offer any advice on how to correctly epoxy a larger area than a guide wrap?. I am coating a decal and can't seem to get a level finish down the length of the decal. I seem to get ripples running around the circumference of the blank. I think these are forming during the drying process, as it seems OK during application. I am using fle
