You are close but no cigar. Fenwick's answer to the D8 was a blank called a JB969, I know because after looking for a real long time I found 1, mine was a factory wrapped rod. It was/is designated PJ969, I had mine stripped & refinished by a friend who does this at United Composites Rod Co so it was done by a expert. The butt diameter is 1.150 or 1 5/32nd's, the tip diameter is .187 or a #12

This may seem like a dumb answer but I think it would be worth the peace of mind & time you will spend refinishing the rod. Why not take it in to Seeker or have a shop like Fishermans Depot send it in for you. That way you will have a blank that has been refinished perfectly by the people who built it. In talking to Mo, the owner at Fishermans Depot it only cost about $35.00 to have it done.

I'm hoping somebody on here can help me identify a couple of Fenwick Blanks that I have. The 1st blank is a honey colored like you would see in their later production rods, it has a Butt diameter of 1.030 & a Tip diameter of .125, the length is 85 inches. The 2nd blank is a older yellow glass blank, it had the letters LB next to the Fenwick Logo, the Butt diameter is 1.125 & has a Tip diam
