I will be changing from braid to mono sometimes often but I will primarily be using mono on this rod due to it's extra fast tip and I use this rod for snap jigging trout and casting for crappies some. I change to braid for perch. Could I get away with going down to 4.5 running guides? I generally will be using 6 lb test suffix elite line.

I am building a MHX SJ721 for myself since my other one A factory G. Loomis was stolen from my pickup. I will most likely cut a few inches off the butt to get the exact action I want. I will put a Shimano Symetre 1500 reel on this setup. I was thinking I was going to go with the Fugi K guides and use the concept system. Can anyone reccomend a Guide train to get me the most out of this rod

Roger, If I have any free time right now I will be fishing. I have a number of customer rods to build and repair. No time for rods for myself until after Christmas :-( What stretch of the Miss do you fish? I am around Wabasha.

Thanks a rod I was using for a bit was the Wright Mcgill 7'7" Tony Roach Power bobber rod. I really liked the action but the sensitivity was not there and I hated the handle. Right now I am using a 6'6" medium avid blank and it is okay but I know there has to be a model out there that is ideal for what I am using. Everytime I am in a sporting goods shop I check out all the rods lookin

I am looking to build a rod for myself. I primarily fish wingdams on the Mississippi river. The specs that I'm looking for are: About 7' so I can free snags with the added length. The tip must be very soft. I fish livebait and do not want the fish to feel the rod. Similar to a noodle rod for icefishing. But I often fish 1/2 oz to 3/4 oz sinkers in current so not too floppy of a tip. As s

Yes Thank You. I just did not know what it was called. It is one of those tools that you don't really think about until you don't have it. I'm guessing one of my kids might have walked off with it. Thanks Again! Mike

A few years ago I bought a wrap layout tool set. In it was a plastic gage with holes and tic marks at 0.90,180,270 degrees. Somehow I lost it and need to get another one. I'm sure this is some office supply but I have no idea what it is called. Can someone tell me what I had and where I can pick one up? Thanks Mike
