A little off subject, but somewhat related, how do you guys figure cost for repairs?Single foot guides, double foot, tip tops, trim bands, single, double, cork reconditioning etc. I recently started repairing rods for some friends, great way to practice and keep your skills sharp, in return they would give me old rods and reels that I would either strip for parts or fix up and donate.now there are some

Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to jump in on this post. I have a few more questions for you:
1-will there be an upgrade for the chuck available,or will existing chucks fit this system?
2-will this unit be able to turn cork?
3- will there be any lathe accessories for turning cork available?

Think I'm leaning towards Bills advice, better to have supports that can be adjusted. Mudhole setup seems a good deal, but may be better to spend a little more money and get something that doesn't need to be engineered to what you want it to do. Looking at pacbay wrapper. I thought I saw it somewhere without motor,is it possible to buy it without motor?

I'm of a mind now to pickup some guides and try concept system as I don't have a rod like that now. If I'm gonna dive in lets go for the deep end, worse case if I don't like it or it's not quite right,I'll strip it and start again and learn alot in the process. Hope al

I am new to rod building and have been lurking about this forum and have learned alot. After a few weeks of practicing wraps and other techniques I recently bought my 1st rod kit. It is a 7ft med/fast 1-2oz. split butt will be used mostly for pier fishing, everything from catfish, redfish, trout to small shark. My 1st question is placement of reel seat in relation to butt of rod.
