First attempt at adding wood to a grip. I left some cork in the rear because I don't like the feel of wood covered with fish slime.

"If one benefit of a Spiral Wrap is reduced guides which = reduced wt, then how is "flipping" conventional wrapped guides (and adding a bumper) in keeping with this advantage??" Tom, This statement was re: spiral wraps in general and was not directed to the Simple Spiral Bumper Wrap. Thanks you all for the feedback. I always enjoy the learning part of this game.

I have been away from the craft for a while due to new obligations as a father (and I thought building rods was difficult). I recently resumed my daily read of the forum and noted the Bumper Wrap system. I did ample research and dove in. I set up a 7'6" popping rod (mod action) tonight per the system and was left with a significant question.....If one benefit of a Spiral Wrap is reduced g

One other thing I can add about the blank is that it has a gloss/graphite finish. I'm not sure if Allstar ever did have a low-end line of blanks with this finish??? Coby

I recently picked up a discontinued blank from a retailer. The markings on the blank say "TP845" and I was told that it was a discontinued line of Allstar popping blanks. By the look/feel of it, I would guess that the length and action match this description but I have no other info on the blank. Can anyone verify this?? I would like some more specs on the blank if you have them.
