Just returned from fishing for snook in mangroves and want to build a shorter rod to try next time. Any suggestions on what blanks would work. Only restriction is it can't be 1 pc due to air travel. Thanks for any and all recommendations.

Scott

Any recommendations for guides/sizes on Forecast 2wt (4pc)? I recently built a 9' 4wt using Pac Bay titanium sf guides and liked them so will probably go that route - would tamer guide be appropriate on rod this small? Thanks in advance.

Any hard-and-fast rule for location of stripping guide? I'm building a Forecast 9' 4wt 4pc. I've got the sheet on static guide placement; just want to make sure I hit the first one right. Thanks in advance; I love this forum.

Anyone have an opinion on the all cork slide-band flyrod handle/seat from Jann's Netcraft? I'm thinking about building a Forecast 6'6" 2 wt and the $10 for that seat looks very attractive.
Thanks in advance,

Thanks in advance,

By the time it arrives 4 days later, I'm

Thanks everyone for all of your suggestions; I love this forum. I decided on the Forecast this time around, but once I convince my wife how much money I'll be saving us, I think I'll give the Dan Craft a try.

Looking for suggestions for a 4wt, 4 or 5 piece, 8 1/2' or 9' blank for fishing out west, mostly dry flies. I'm currently in a love/hate relationship with my Sage 904-2 RPL - love the rod, hate to check it with the airlines (TSA policy regarding carry-on seems to vary based on phases of the moon or readings of goat entrails). Budget is an issue here; I'd like to keep the cost for blank and com
