Most tackle shops that cater to offshore fisherman should stainless leader wire up to .050 if that helps at all, welding supply house's should have TIG welding wire as small as 1/32" and that comes in 3' lengths. hope that helps

Once again if I can tap the wealth of knowledge on this forum I found an old Fisher grafhite blank model number X26708 what do I have and would it make a decent fly rod build.

I recently purchased a Fenwick fenglas blank with a Fenwick label that reads RT7830 the measured length of the blank is 76 1/4 " the butt measures 7/8 " O.D. the wall thickness is approx 1/16 " and the tip 7/32 " can anyone give me an idea what I have and what would be a good rod to build with it.

I have a cpw it has given me trouble free service for a number of years it is extremely well made looking at from a machinists' point of view can't say anything pro or con about any other unit

SUCCESS !!!!!!
Used a little gentle heat from a heat gun on a lower setting a plastic putty knife that I squared the edge of with a carpenters plane and then cleaned up the whole mess with goo-gone

Bill you mention spray oil are you refering to goo gone or a citrus oil in a spray form?

Removed an old cork tape handle and was left with a cellophane type of film under which was a real sticky glue once I was able to wrestle some bits and pieces of this indestructible film off the glue cleans up pretty good with lacquer thinner. My question, is there an easier way to remove this film other than picking and scraping. Will acetone hurt the blank it's an old lami honey blank.

I know I am asking a difficult question with out being able to give more facts I recently picked up an older custom rod it is a yellow blank and looks to be
a fenwick I dont think it is a lami because it is to light in color that being said the problemb I am facing is that some one for one reason or another saw fit
to coat the rod with what looks to be rod varnish and a very poor job of it now
