1. Fish Wrap
I have only been building rods for a few years and this is my first closed wrap. I'm kinda proud of myself. Be honest and tell me what you think.

2. AFAW
I have been looking for AFAW blanks. I found only one person whom imports these blanks. Looking for the 13' Big Beach. He does not have these and would have to order a case of 12 in order to get just one. I am looking for 3 or 4 of these blanks. Can anyone help me with this?

Barry, I had the same problem. Couldn't find the color anywhere. i would check with all the places here on the left first. If they don't have it let me know and I have another place.

I have use the cocobolo for turning duck calls. Never had a problem with finish. But I used something other that rod building finish. I used a spray can of automotive clear coat. Very hard and holds up well in the elements of duck hunters. Not sure how it would do in this application. How would you go about drawing the oil from the wood?

What is the most common type of wood used on inserts? Or do you mostly choose color? Has anyone used Cocobola or Tiger Wood? (I've got some laying around the shop) If so, how did it turn out? Thinking of turning my own insert on my next rod.

Tom, this will be my first ICRBE, and I am interested in several of the seminars. Will both rooms have seminars going on at the same time? I'm asking because there are a couple that might over lap (time wise) if this is the case. Thanks.

10. Re: Surf Rod
I am looking at a drum rod. Probably throwing an 8 - 12 oz weight with bait. Depending on currents. Here in NC the currents get pretty bad and need heavy weight to keep the bait still. Casting reel. I'm just your average size guy, so don't want something so heavy I can't hold it. I'm thinking of a one piece rod. Does anyone have suggestions on one or two piece? I have a two piece now. I
