Ok, I'm probably taking a long shot, but I thought I'd ask. I have a 7'-6'' sage 4 weight that is two piece. I've started backpacking and would like to take it along, but the length is a little problematic. I was wondering if there is any way I could carefully make this rod into a four piece. I love the rod and would like to avoid having to buy a whole new rod to replace it.

Does anyone know where to get those cardboard tubes? For a one way trip those seem like the best option. I know Bass Pro Shops ships rods in them, and at the tackle shop I worked at for a few years we sent all of our rods-for-repair out in cardboard tubes, and reused them numerous times after they were shipped back. I know they exist. It seems like they wouldn't be impossible to find. Any ideas?

Well, leave it to me to forget to read the forum rules the one time it actually matters, I appologize. I got a little excited seeing such a cool forum.
