The Jacobs chucks I was referring to, hollow body spindle nose chucks, are no longer being made, so they would have to be found in the used market, too bad.

They were also 1 1/2 X 8TPI which fits SB, Atlas, etc

A large Jacobs chuck is really easy, precise and simple. I think you can get them as big as the ID of your spindle.

Size and type of runners depends a lot on what type of fish you're going to use the rod for, if it's something like bonefish that run fast, you might want to use a larger snake guide so that a small tangle could pass through without disastrous consequences. On the other hand if you're going use it for smallmouth or stripers you can easily use the single foot RECs. I would also use the smaller str

This is my first post here, but having been a woodworker for many years,when gluing anything, make sure you have squeeze out along your whole glue line, always and with whatever type of adhesive you're using, and when gluing up grips always spin the cork rings after pushing them together and then check to make sure there are no gaps.
