If Im geting you right...those are made of epoxy (ramp) and after they are shaped and smoothed after that you cover with thread and epoxy........(kinda bulb shape) on a light setup it adds too much weight IMHO...seen it on troling rods and like

Not to up to under wraps (dont need most of the time) therefore I use an empty bobin an some thread on it and keep it on the blank with ruber bands. Kinda tricky...LOL

How would you install the grip from behind once you have a taper ? At the butt end you will have a Nice fit but close to the seat it will be lose. You might be able to wrap a thread in order to remove the taper but .....???!!!!! Lol
