Thanks guys, but let's not change into a ceramic hate thread.
I've got a lot of experience with both wire and ceramic and know I can build rods that have similar (or very close) tip weight to most wire builds but cast and fish more nicely for me.
I'm not using this rod to throw dry flies 20-40'. It may never make a roll cast other than to pick up line.
It sees saltwater use. Lots of blin

I'd appreciate if anyone can share their experience using Fuji T-KTTG 4 or 4.5s on a 4wt fly rod?
I have a Sexyloop HT4 (fast action, powerful 9' blank) that I built with REC RSF guides. Love the rod but not a fan of the guides.
I'd like to rebuild it with ceramics but wish to keep the weight penalty to a minimum......albeit at the expense of internal diameter.
I'm thinking a T-LKWTG 10

There is another option for the 6wt at least.
You can build the rod with using small Torzite running guides (T-KTTG size 5.5 or 6) and an Arowana tip.
The weight gain will only be a few grains (compared with larger I.D. REC titanium-nitrile single foots) and unnoticeable while casting. You do, however, give up some guide inside diameter to achieve this. Using the T-KTTGs will reduce blan

It will cost you (300 sterling plus 20 shipping) but if you want what are probably the best casting blanks available ...........and if you are an advanced enough caster to make use of them......then you should look hard at the Sexyloop Hot Torpedo blanks. The blanks are built in Spain. They are very light, fast action blanks with powerful midsections, some give in the lower section to provide

I've used 32" but I also own a Scott Sector 8wt and on that rod the collector (a cerecoil 20) is 25 3/4" from the rear of the reel seat.
It works fine although is a bit cramped with two handed retrieves.
Perhaps moving the heavier guides closer in lightens the swing weight a bit and also reduces strain on the first ferrule under heavy loads ?
Something to consider.

I'll respectfully suggest you rethink your blank choice. That one sounds like a tuna blank and is likely way, way more rod (and weight) than needed for bluefish (or the reel choice). I am not familiar with rainshadow blanks but after quick glance at their RX offerings blanks like the RX MB 846 or 946 (maybe with a few inches off the butt) sound much more like what I'd consider. This is in my wheelhouse. Absolutely you would help him raise his fishing game by encouraging him to learn to fish with a conventional outfit.....BUT not for bluefish.
Bluefish like stuff fast, particularly top water, and spinning does this more easily than conventional. The plugs are typically aerodynamic, distance a priority, so fast action blanks are the norm. Plug size is not very impo

The K series 40 and 30 are also just becoming available in a L (for low) size that is supposed match up with the height of the BMNAG's.

This remains a problem for me as well. Been going on several weeks.
