My Niece wanted a rod for her Husband. He likes Carolina is all I was told. They loved the outcome, even though it doesn't scream UNC.

I know what I did. I know how I did. I could go back and replicate my actions. I can't promise I will be able to produce the yin-yang symbol again. I knew this was going to be a pretty good "reveal", but had no idea it would look almost like a negative image of itself.

Looks dead on purple from a distance. I was so excited about trying something, I completely overlooked how red and blue were going to look purple as an overwrap. Pulled 4 threads with 2 sacs on this one. Maybe the next thing I try will work a little better. LOL

I just got finished building a couple ballistics. One with low riders for casting, one with K frames for spinning. Doing a static test. the low riders, I used 2 on the mid section, and then followed out to the tip using size 10 "running" guides. Good info Don gave you, your best bet will be to static test it for placement and test cast like you were saying. For the stripper, I used t

If you use too much CP at any stage, you are liable to find that the threads will not rest up against each other. I have done quite a few crosswraps, not nearly as many as others on here, but I have never had to use CP to keep the threads from moving. That sounds more like a tension issue. If you were to CP them in place, it may bite you towards the end when you are adjusting your threads so e

Since you haven't tried them before, why not use to recommended spacing as a baseline and experiment. Why not tape them up, test, move them, test again? Spend some time testing and you will find what works best for your setup. If the recommended spacing doesn't work for you, I bet you can dial it in perfectly for your blank/reel/and line by test casting.
