I have a reel seat it is not on the blank ,I am not using the epoxy for the blank. Back to the reel seat it is in two parts the butt cap not attached to the reel seat. the cap needs to be attached to the real seat and I was asking the proper way to do this.

I bought a aluminum reel seat and the cap is not attached, How do you glue it to the reel seat. I have some Flex Coat rod building epoxy would that work?

I am building a old Lamiglas fiberglass rod. The ferrule has a metal ring on the female end I have wrapped it were it meets the rod. Should I wrap it next to the metal ring?

OK Now I am confused. In Clements book it said to double wrap leave a gap and cut. Now how do I get a double wrap with only 1/8 inch or less showing. Would it not be easer to cut the rod put in the spigot than wrap.

I have some one piece fly rod blanks. I have never used them before.I want to use spigot ferrules. My question is in Clements book Fiber Glass Rod Making he says to wrap the ferrule location before cutting the blank leaving a 3/8 gap between them. In Tom Kirkman's book Rod-building Guide he says to wrap right next to the end. In order to do this I think I would have to cut the blank first. What i

Years ago I mad a few fly rods and would like to get back into it. I am looking for (not sure of the correct mame) ,Rod butt and a slip ring I will make my own wood seat. I have a Mudd Hole and Janns catalog and they are not in there. Tried looking on the net and can't find them. Hope someone outthere can help. Thanks
