Not sure about the nickel but stainless 316L is low carbon and I get no staining or tarnish using in saltwater in 3 years.Thats a about 2 hundred fishing trips and I don't rinse them as good as I should. I just looked at one, it's 3 years old and there's no rust or tarnish. Looks like I just install it on the rod. I can email a pic if anyone needs one.

Hey guys I'm going to be attending the ICRBE Expo and I'm working on redoing a St Croix 7.6' med light bast caster. I'm trying to do a slow spiral wrap with 3 guides transitioning from 0-180 deg. I've been doing at lot of research on this and done hours of reading, have the rod laid out with the guides. I just don't feel comfortable with the minimum amount knowledge of spirals that I have it l

Thanks Roger, I have a bunch of fuji hardloy guides and was thinking of using a BNLG10 or 8 for a butt guide and 4 BNLG7 to transition to 180 deg and then BLG 6 fly guides to the tip and see how it works. If that does not work I will just keep playing with it till something works with inexpensive guides and then buy some better guides.

Because I like shorter rods for wade fishing and shorter handles. Also I don't think I need all the backbone the tc76mf has.

I got a shimano c4 baitcasting reel for Christmas and am going to attempt to build a spiral rod. I have 2 blanks stripped down to the bare blank, a St Croix tc76mf and tc76mm. I am thinking about cutting 6 inches off the butt to make them 7 footers. I am not sure which spiral system to use. Also, I don't know what size butt guide and transition guides I should use to make the spiral. By readi

Whats up with Git Bit Outdoors customer service? They call when something you ordered is out of stock. I'm not sure how to handle that. It's never happened before by any other company, they just don't send what is out of stock. Nice job Get Bit!

Hey guys thank for your replies. Have spent a few hours casting different rods with a 3/16 oz lure today. Most are 7ft ML I have a Shimano CSS-86ML 8'6" lure wt1/4-3/4 line wt 6-12 power ML action medium fast IM-7 graphite that outperforms the rest. So I am thinking a good 8'6" to 9' ML blank would be good choice as this rod is being built to catch speckle trout and small redfish 2lb

I am looking for a blank to cast yo-zuri lures 1/16 to 1/4 oz, will be using a stradic 2500 and 1000 reel 6 to 8lb braid line. The most important factor is long distance casting, length of the rod is not a factor any help would be appreciated.

The rod cast good just messed up on the new concept system. I lined up my straight edge to the center of the guide ring and not to the top of the guide.

I built a rod this summer a Batson sxw76ml which they don't make any more. It stinks my favorite rod. I would like too change the reduction guides to higher and small ones to bklag high frames so the location would not be the same as the guides removed. I can't see how i could do this without damaging the finish of the blank. Any thoughts on this would be big help

This isn't a regular 3 jaw scroll chuck where you can drop a jaw in one at a time. I've taken apart a lot of 3 jaw chucks at work, but this chuck you have to have all 3 jaws in it at the same time to put it together.

I have a Dale Clems 3 jaw chuck that was bought in the early 80's. Sat in the garage for 25 years and rusted up. Got it out and cleaned it up. I have completely taken it apart and can't figure out how to get the 3 jaws back into the chuck. Is anyone familiar with this type and have any idea of the manufacturer or how to get the jaws back in. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
