Hi i am using metallic for trim and a three band in lay . Iam doing it just like it says to in Rod maker July/August 1998 issue . But my problem is when i go and cut it of i leave i little nub . Are metallic threads by nature harder to work with? What is the trick to work with metallics? Thanks Marcel Re: metallic threads

leave the nub and after your first epoxy coat carefully trim the nub away and you will not feel or see it good luck and tight wraps .....John T Burford aka Tightline Rod's Re: metallic threads

As John Burford said just leave thae nub in place and cut after your first coat of finish. I use the free hand Method of doing trim bands That Tom Kirkman E mailed me some time ago. After I tighten and pack my loops I put a small dab of CP on the Knot with a pin, I then cut both tag ends of the knot while wet, I seem to get a much closer cut without a nasty nub or any fuzz. Just somthing I came across by accident , method one is the norm and it will work fine for you! Happy wrapping "John" Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
